Tory Burch Fleming Shoulder Bag Review

When I was in Baltimore Wednesday I dropped by the Towson mall to swap a shirt for a different size and emerged the owner of a new handbag. Oops. I’m totally smitten though! I have to say I didn’t get the Instagram term #bagcrush before, and now I do. I keep looking at my new Fleming bag thinking how pretty it is and dreaming up different ways to style it. Yep, obsessed :).

Here’s a quick review of the Tory Burch Fleming bag (also comes in other colors, linked at the end):

Pros:

  • I love the design of this bag. In many ways it reminds me of the iconic Chanel Classic Flap with its quilted leather, front flap, and pull through chain-leather-and-leather strap. What I like though is that still it’s original enough to make it truly unique. The logo at the top has such a cool effect with how it straddles both the front and the back, and provides a sharp counterbalance to the diamond quilting.
  • Another thing I love is the quality. The leather is high quality lambskin and the stitching is amazing. I always pay attention to stitching on bags to see if there are edges or irregular stitches, and this one is perfection.
  • I also like the versatility this bag offers. The color (called “bedrock”) is a gorgeous neutral that will go with anything, and the way it can change from a crossbody to a shoulder bag by doubling up the chain makes it transition easily from day to evening.
  • From a practicality standpoint, this bag is still big enough to hold a long wallet, keys, and cell phone. The hidden back pocket with its magnetic closure is a super convenient spot to stick your phone for easy retrieval.

Cons:

  • The front closure can be a little difficult to close. It’s a magnetic snap with a lip, and the lip has to be lined up to close- a little tricky because you can’t really see it. As a result, sometimes it takes an extra second or two, but that’s not a deal breaker for me!
  •  The light color could make this bag prone to showing dirt over time, but I guess that’s most lighter colored leather bags. I’m going to swing by Tory Burch in Charlotte this week to see what they recommend in terms of leather treatment.

Hope you all have a wonderful rest of your weekend!

XO,
Terra
