The Perfect Fall LBD and Boots

Hi Ladies, I hope your week is off to a great start! Did you do any Fall-related activities this weekend? I love everything about Fall: cooler weather, the foliage, pumpkin-spice lattes, football…and of course Fall fashion. To top things off, both my birthday and Juliana’s fall right in the middle of October. Could we have gotten anymore lucky?

Yesterday we checked out a pumpkin farm not far from our house. It was so much fun to watch Juliana check out the options and show me the ones she liked! I wore two of my new favorite Fall staples so I had more than one reason to stop and capture the moment ;).

Side note- Juliana is particular about her clothes and strongly prefers to dress herself, which I let her do yesterday. I like how she choose a sweater with a flower the color of her leggings to tie things together—this kid is a fashionista in her own right and I love it!

When I tried on this dress the other day, I had to have it. The color/fit is figure-flattering to all body types and it is crazy soft and comfortable. It is the perfect basic for dressing up or down this Fall and the price is great too. The sleeves are ¾ length (I pushed them up slightly) and the dress fits true to size. I love the little ties at the neckline, but if you are looking for a basic scoop neck black dress, these can be easily removed.

The same day I found my dress I also discovered these boots. It’s very difficult to find quality leather boots for less than $200, so these are an outstanding value. I got several compliments just trying them on! The over-the-knee trend is huge this Fall but I find they don’t pair with quite as many outfits. These boots come above my lower knee when not wearing slouched as in this look, so they capture an element of the OTK trend with the practicality of a more basic boot. Tip: if you want to keep your boots up, wear a pair of leg warmers underneath…it works like a charm!

To add a pop of color I topped the ensemble off with a ruched plaid scarf. I love scarves with something a little different and I was drawn to the gathered element and fringe hemline.
