First, let’s get one thing out of the way: I’m an outfit repeater.

Being knee deep in this wild fashion blogging world it feels so rogue to wear the same top twice. But wearing in back to back posts? Now that’s what I call living on  EDGE! Let’s be real though, #reallife is buying something to wear more than once and I happen to really love this top.

With Summer officially here and hot weather to stay, a killer pair of shorts and a flattering lightweight top are two staples that won’t ever steer you wrong. Call me extra, but as much as I like this combination I always add a few quick details to pack some serious style punch.

  1. Layer necklaces 2″ apart. Two or three smartly layered necklaces have the same effect as a single statement necklace only more sophisticated (and let’s be honest, a lot lighter to wear). I love mixing different textures like the pearl and coins one here. The key to statement necklaces is placing them the right amount apart- if you’re new to layering 2″ is a good rule of thumb- 12″, 14″, 16″ etc. You can always layer bracelets too. I’ve been loving this chain link David Yurman look-alike together with this cable twist cuff.
  2. Belt it. Invest in a great belt and you’ll be amazed with the ability it has to immediately transform an outfit. I adore my Gucci belt but realize it could fall into that ‘blogger cliche’ category. A great alternative for the a similar punch and a third the tag is this Tory Burch belt (on sale).
  3. Knot your tee. I don’t know what it is but a knotted tee always looks more polished. Knotting can be tricky (and/or stretch out your tee) but no stress- I shared a really easy hack on my Instagram Stories guaranteed to give you the perfect knot, every knot.
  4. Roll up the sleeves on your tee or tee shirt dress. I love a crisp white tee but you know what I love more? A crisp tee with rolled up sleeves. A few quick cuffs and that front knot from #3 will have people wondering, how does she look so chic in just a tee?
  5. Opt for a v neck. Maybe it’s because V’s and layered necklaces go together like PB&J…?? But in all seriousness a v neck is almost always more flattering than a basic yolk neck.

And that’s it beauties! I hope each of you is having a great short week and I can’t wait to talk to you Thursday.

XO,

Terra
