What I Wore to New York Fashion Week

Hey gals! I hope your week is going well. I just got back from Malvern PA for our Turkey Hill 2018 kick off. It was a lot of fun but two long days on the heels of New York Fashion Week. Tonight I wanted to talk about the trends I saw at New York Fashion Week, but with time being limited I thought I’d save that and share my outfits with you instead.

One thing I loved about New York Fashion Week is how many different styles you see and how they vary person to person. From very dressy to super casual, NYFW was about taking current trends and expressing them in a way that truly reflects one’s own aesthetic. I tend towards a romantic elevated casual vibe, and it was fun to style some of the season’s big trends in a way that felt authentically “me”.

Here’s what I wore:

BB Dakota Faux Fur VestCami // Drape Front Vest // Jeans // Boots

I was so excited about this cami when I found it because it hits on several of the hottest trends–velvet, satin, lace—but incorporates them in a beautiful and universally flattering way.  I layered it with this drape front vest by BB Dakota. It’s incredibly soft and comfortable (it feels like a warm hug when I wear it, lol!) and works just as well for early Fall with a cami as it does for late Fall/Winter with a long sleeve tee or sweater.

Gucci Soho Disco BagJumpsuit (mine is the petite; available in regular but other colors here) // Heels, similar for less here // Bag

I wore this to the Style Collective party on Friday evening. This was a dressy event and gave me the perfect opportunity to wear the prettiest lavender jumpsuit. I find that Topshop usually runs small, and I had to go up a size for this one.

Leopard Print ScarfSweater (under $20) // Jeans // Leopard Print Scarf // Sandals

This was my outfit for dinner with Ridge and Juliana at John’s Pizza off of Times Square (if you like pizza and you’re in NYC this place is a must!!). After wearing heels, all I wanted to do was be complete comfortable so this look was the way to go for me. I love looks that don’t sacrifice comfort for style and this one struck a great mix of the two. I like this sweater because the sea foam green is such a pretty and unique color and also love that it can be worn off shoulder.

Louis Vuitton CroisetteCardigan // Lace up top // Jeans // Sandals // Bag

Of all the outfits, this one was my favorite. I wore it to a show and to take Juliana shopping Saturday afternoon.  Lace and lace up are huge trends this Fall and this top is such a gorgeous rendition of both. It comes in five colors, but I chose the white because I felt it would be most versatile. I’m constantly wearing this long cardigan and think I will get it in the off white color as well because of how versatile and flattering it is. Last, I spotted these grey jeans at Express over Labor Day weekend and was so happy to find them! Blue and black denim are closet staples for me, but the color grey is trending this Fall (along with blush pink!) and I realized it’s just as versatile a neutral.

Topshop camo jacketJacket // Cami // Jeans // Sandals

I wore this to get coffee and macaroons with my blogger friend Nelli at Laduree on Sunday. Camo comes back every Fall and I think a good fitting camo jacket is a must. For this one from Topshop I actually went down a size (typically I go up a size in Topshop!). I found my normal size was a bit oversized and I wanted to something a little more fitted. Ultimately, I think it depends on your preference and how you want it to fit!

New York Fashion Week still feels a little surreal and I’m so thankful I got the opportunity to go. I am such a lucky bum! Stay tuned for my NYFW wrap-up as well as a few more detailed posts on these looks.

Hope you have a great rest of your week!

XO,

Terra
