I’m always excited when I discover great new beauty products, but even more so since I started this blog because now I get to share them with you all too :).
I’ve found using great products is a huge help when trying to look red-carpet worthy without the prep time. A winning product enhances your natural beauty, is forgiving when you’ve got just a few minutes to get ready, and stays put (because who has time for touch-ups?). Whether or not a product does these things has become my major criteria for evaluating new products.
Here are some products I’ve tried lately and fallen in love with…
- Tarte Double Duty Shape Tape Concealer. I love this concealer plain and simply because it works so well. Those of you who follow my blog have heard me mention that I have struggled with acne, so a good concealer is very important to me. So many concealers wear off after several hours but this one just stays…and stays.
- Smashbox Studio Skin 15 Hour Wear Hydrating Foundation. This foundation reminds me a lot of how Mac foundation looks…a flawless, airbrushed look. But unlike Mac this one doesn’t make my skin feel heavy or clog my pores/cause me to break out. I know everyone’s skin is different, but if you’re looking for an excellent-coverage foundation that’s still breathable, I highly recommend thus one. (Ya’ll I am obsessed with this foundation.)
- Tarte The Sculptor Contouring Face Slenderizer. I haven’t really been into the contouring craze, more than anything because of the time it would take in my makeup routine. But when I saw Tarte, one of my favorite makeup brands, had a contour crayon, I had to try it. I only spent a few seconds applying and blending and it looked fantastic. If you’re looking to get a bit more of a sculpted look quickly, I highly recommend.
- Urban Decay Naked2 Palette. When I use eye shadows, I gravitate to more neutral palettes (this one is awesome) so to get out of my beauty comfort zone I decided to try this one with its mix of shimmery and matte shades. All the shades work so beautifully together and create a knockout effect when layered.
- Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner. This is without a doubt the easiest liquid eyeliner I have applied to date. I think it is something about the tip that makes it so easy to create the perfect line. I could apply it in seconds and it stayed put all day long. I love this thing so much!
- Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara. There are a lot of great mascaras on the market so it takes a lot for one to “stand out of the crowd” and this one does. Right away when I started applying it looked like I had more lashes. It was such a weird feeling…like wait, I have all these lashes?! I think it’s because most mascaras pull some lashes together, and this one separates, separates, separates.
- Urban Decay Vice Lipstick. This lipstick line covers all the bases of a good lipstick– moisturizing, great feel, even color, applies evenly, stays put– but on top of all this it has some really, really pretty colors and awesome finishes.
- Urban Decay All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray. Take a second and spray this on your makeup when you’re finished. It won’t move all day. I promise :).
- Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade. For several years I have adored Anastasia’s Brow Wiz pencil but I decided to branch out and give her pomade a try. I love this product! It creates a very natural-looking brow- I think even more so than her pencil. It’s also great for making brows look a little “fuller”. The only thing I would caution is to use the right brush (you can buy her pomade/brush/and a mascara in a kit here), and don’t be too heavy-handed…a little bit goes a long way!
…and this is me wearing all of the products above.
Have you found any awesome beauty products lately? I would love if you let me know about them in the comments below! And if you guys end up trying any of these products, tag me on your Instagram so I can “like” and comment!
