Well gals, today we {finally} got our tree up! Things have been crazy and I got behind in the decorating department. And since we’re ditching our digs next month I took longer to decide on a tree…contemplating how it would look in the new house and all that good stuff.
Anwway, now it’s up and our stockings are hung (Juliana chose a Shimmer and Shine one that matches nothing but makes her ecstatic) I’m finally in the Christmas spirit. I was getting worried for a bit, like how come I’m not feeling it? then once the tree went up the magic happened.

When it comes to Winter fashion, I’ve always been a fan of “Winter Whites.” A big right trend now is the monochromatic look, and I came up with a little variation I call “duochromatic” 😉 . When an element is repeated in an outfit, it’s instantly pleasing to the eye and when you mix two complementary colors it does just that.
In this case, I’m mixing grey and white (two neutrals). You could do this with any two complementary colors and layer up with a cardigan vs. of a vest (though this puffer is so warm I’m a little partial!). Often when I’m in a time crunch- which let’s be honest is 99% of the time as I struggle with time management- I build my outfit around two colors. As always, details make a look so I topped things off with these cozy cable knit earmuffs. I love how it and the fur trim keep things from looking too matchy-matchy.

Here’s another look to wear holiday shopping- or really to any informal gathering this month. I tried on this cozy thermal top at Nordstrom the other day and immediately picked it up. It’s unbelievably soft/comfy/flattering, not to mention super versatile- a great wardrobe staple. I’ve been wearing it nonstop since I got it (the comfort factor) and can’t wait to layer with jackets and vests.
This Topshop beanie makes the look- it’s that extra “something” I always try for in an outfit. I’ve purchased several beanies recently and this one is my absolute favorite (also have in purple, here).
Ok it’s your turn. What’s your favorite holiday look to rock?
Love always,
Terra
