Whew, we made it through another week!
Thanks so much for ALL your messages, texts and comments on Wednesday’s post. I loved hearing how you blogger babes could relate and was SHOCKED how many non-bloggers said you struggle with this comparison thing too. It seems the key to avoiding it is living such that we’re happy in our own skin with the life we’ve created. Setting and accomplishing personal goals- a fitness goal, a savings goal, etc.- will give a “winning” feeling that has zilch to do with anyone else. Anyway, that’s my little ah-ha from this whole thing. 🙂
On that note, can you believe it’s December? So many of my favorite outfits from November went on sale after Thanksgiving and are still marked down.
Also in November I discovered the PERFECT holiday lipstick shade, MAC’s All Fired Up andddd it’s on sale right now. It’s not quite red, not quite pink but 100% stunning. It would be gorgeous on any skintone- a fresh alternative to the traditional red lip. I’m wearing it in many of the pictures below…I’ve been reaching for it nonstop since I got it! I like to think of lipstick as part of your overall “look”, more as an acessory than as makeup. It can totally make an outfit and give you that polished, pulled together look with very little time and effort.
lipstick: MAC “All Fired Up”// jacket (my ride or die…the BEST leather jacket) // cami //
Tory Burch Fleming bag (also available in a larger size here)
lipstick: MAC “All Fired Up” // sweater (I wish you could feel how soft it is- a new wardrobe staple) // jeans //
boots, identical style on sale for under $80 here // necklace- similar // Louis Vuitton Totall in PM size for less here
This is actually a scarf, but I wore it as a poncho! I really love its versatility as well as the price
heels: Cole Haan on sale here; his heels are the most comfortable I own // sweater // jeans // Prada Saffiano bag, similar for less here
lipstick: MAC “All Fired Up”
This look would be easy to create with pieces already in your closet + this or a similar scarf. The black and white in the scarf pick up these colors in the rest of the look and is its what ties everything together to give that cohesive feel.
velvet bodysuit (sold out in blush but here in beige) // cardigan (my favorite cardi of the year!!): on sale here and also on sale in all sizes here
jeans (blogged about here) // Gucci belt (similar for less here) // sandals
pullover (on sale and available in select size here); available in other colors in all sizes here // jeans (amazing fit and quality for the price) // beanie // boots, identical style on sale for under $80 here // necklace- similar
bubble sleeve sweater // jeans- similar // necklace // Gucci belt (similar for less here)
boots, identical style on sale for under $80 here
I am loving the monochromatic trend right now- it’s so fast and easy to style. The key is looking for pieces with great details (like the bubble sleeves of this sweater) and adding a few sharp accessories.
Polka dot bodysuit (go up one size) // cardigan (comes in 12 colors- I’m about to order in purple!) // jeans- similar
heels: Cole Haan on sale here // Tory Burch Fleming bag (also available in a larger size here)
In full disclosure, this bodysuit does require a tiny little sitching with a needle and thread at the neckline so it doesn’t come open. Once I did that I really loved it- the ruffles are just so feminine and I love the way the polka dot layers underneath sweaters and coats.
top (on sale) // gold heel mules (on sale) // blush cropped pants (a work wear staple for me) // Louis Vuitton Neverfull in MM
necklace- similar // heels: Cole Haan on sale here
Dress on sale here // scarf // tights // booties – similar // Tory Burch Fleming bag (also available in a larger size here)
teddy coat // cami // jeans // Gucci belt (similar for less here) // bag //
boots, identical style on sale for under $80 here
Dress on sale // sunglasses // sandals // Gucci Soho bag
Free People sweateron sale here and here (I went down a size to XS) // earrings // beanie // burgundy jeans- similar on sale here (size up)
Chenille cardigan// jeans // Gucci belt (similar for less here) // necklace- similar
boots, identical style on sale for under $80 here // Gucci Soho bag
twist back sweater // (similar for under $20 here) // similar necklaces: this layered with this // jeans // bag //
boots, identical style on sale for under $80 here
Feel free to message me if you have any questions on sizing. I hope you have a great weekend!
Love always,
Terra
