Lighter Tones

What if I told you that innocent-looking little girl photo bombed this entire shoot?! Well, it happened. One of the things I never thought about when I started blogging was how, er, “complicated” photo shoots can be with a little one…especially when her daddy is the photographer ;). When we remember to bring the stroller and a fully charged phone for ABC cartoons, things are manageable but I just didn’t plan that well this time.

Anyway, we were lucky enough to get a few good ones- and I’m glad because I’ve been so excited to share this top with you since I got it! Ruffles are one of the big Fall trends and this is the prettiest ruffle top I’ve seen so far. The double ruffle at the bottom and asymmetrical hem are the type of gorgeous details I usually only see on higher end designer pieces and the one sleeve styling heightens the sophisticated look and feel.

This top also comes in black but I knew right away I wanted it in this pretty almost lilac hue. For some reason I’ve been totally drawn to lighter tones this Fall. Maybe it’s because blush pink, mauve, and grey are exploding- but honestly I think it’s because this former Hawaii gal subconsiously isn’t ready to say goodbye to warmer weather ;).

I can’t finish this post without talking about these grey jeans because as cliche as it sounds, I have been living in them since I got them. They are the most comfortable pair of jeans I own and go with everything. In fact, I prefer the way most tops and sweaters look with them compared to blue jeans.
