I hope you gals are having a great week! Anyone else feel like things start to really look up around Hump Day evening? ๐ Tonight I’m excited to do a different sort of post and talk about swimwear accessories with you. Maybe it’s because I’m super girly, but I love dressing up a bathing suit with beach-appropriate baubles. If I say “swimwear accessories”, most people think of sunnies, a hat, and perhaps a straw tote. These are great but bracelets, necklaces and even earrings can add a fresh element to your beach or pool-ready look.
The Collaboration
A few weeks back I was on Macys.com looking at jewelry from one of my favorite brands, Lonna and Lilly. Their accessories are perfect for many occasions, but while browsing I realized some were well suited for swimwear. True to form, I dove right in (ya’ll picking up on my pool references?? ๐ ) and sent L&L a note suggesting a collaboration. I was beyond excited when they said yes, and am still very thankful for the opportunity to work with them. (As a newer blogger, it felt surreal that a brand I love and have shopped for some time was interested in doing a collaboration with me.)
In these photos I am styling four of my favorite Lonna and Lilly pieces: this beaded necklace, these pretty sea-blue earrings, this brown wrap bracelet, and this blue one. I purchased the brown one last August and even though I’ve worn it multiple times a week it still looks new. One of the things I love about Lonna and Lilly’s jewelry is the quality; their pieces are well made yet reasonably priced. I also love how unique each item is.
Body Love
I was all jazzed up over this look, but yesterday when it came time for Ridge and I to grab the camera and head to the pool, I started getting nervous. At first I couldn’t figure it out…I’ve never gotten nervous for one of our little shoots! Then I realized it was because I was wearing a bathing suit and a lot of people were going to see. If you’ve read this post you know I’ve needed to work at fitness and struggled after having Juliana to get back in shape. While I make time for exercise and try to eat well, my body is far from “perfect”. Like others I have “problem areas” and stretch marks, but aside from nerves over photos likes these I’m perfectly ok with that. I’m a mommy. I enjoy food. And I’m never going to be a size 0.
Real beauty is about owning who you are and feeling comfortable in your own skin. Hair, makeup and an ultra flattering scalloped swimmy don’t hurt, but mastering this lesson has made me feel far more beautiful than any of these things combined. If you take nothing else away from this post, know that YOU are beautiful for who you are and because of who you are. Now go out and own it, girl! <3
A big thank you to Lonna and Lilly for sponsoring today’s post!
