Hey everyone! How is your week coming along? Perhaps you’re also feeling like it’s flying–with lots crammed into a short work week! I just got back from a quick trip to NYC. Yesterday was crazy between travel and meetings, but later my co-worker and I added a little fun into the mix. Last night we saw the Yankees play the Blue Jays (my first time at the “new” Yankee stadium-it was so pretty!) and had dinner at the sweetest little Italian restaurant on the Upper East side. This morning we hit up second hand shops that made my eyes pop. So many Louboutins, Manolos, and Farragamos for so little! The only downside was finding the right size, but it was a fun treasure hunt that was very New York.
One of the things I love about New York is how many different neighborhoods there are in close proximity. I stopped for a quick coffee break this morning and ended up walking by the prettiest apartments. Of course I had to capture the moment 🙂
I’d packed this cardigan anticipating cooler weather in New York but really just needed it for the plane ride back! I do love it though and know it’ll get plenty of use as the weather turns. I find that cardigans are great “building blocks” for outfits and love this one because it is versatile and trendy at the same time. I’ve seen a lot of the burnt orange color this season, and I must say I’m a fan. I also love the drape and length in the back but my favorite thing is how insanely soft and cozy this thing is (insert heart eye emoji here).
To add interest to this outfit, I chose a patterned shirt (many patterns/prints would look great under this cardi) and topped it off with a simple long gold necklace. Since the cardigan is such a rich color, I added a light bag that would “pop” against it. I found this little gem at Nordstrom last weekend; it looks like a Rebecca Minkoff bag but is only $36. For jeans, I went with a darker wash with subtle lighter tones on the front for a little more interest. They’re Paige, a denim brand I absolutely love because of how they fit. I found them half priced at Nordstrom Rack a few years ago but linked similar pairs that Rack currently carries.
Let me know what you guys think in the comments and if you’d like to see more of this type of look! And follow me on Instagram (fifteenminutestoflawless) for more outfit inspiration.
