Can you believe September starts this week? I’m not sure where Summer went–it flew by so fast! I guess that’s what happens between work, being a mom to Juliana, keeping up with family and friends, trying to stay fit…and starting a fashion/beauty blog on the side 😉 With it coming to a close, I thought it would be appropriate to kiss goodbye to the season with one last Summer look.
I love this top for several reasons. For one, I’m a fan of the off shoulder trend that has been so big this season. It’s such a fun look! But this shirt is amazing because it’s more practical than some other picks. I find the strapless off shoulder tops that rely on elastic go from off-shoulder to on-shoulder as soon as I move my arms 🙂 This one is held up by the straps–and it stays put.
I also love the adorable tie-strap detail in the front and back. I was pleasantly surprised to find these ties are actually real strips of material fitted through small openings and tied–not just sewn on to look like ties. A small detail, but I’m a detail-oriented girl. Between the design/fit/style, to me this shirt gives off more of a “haute couture” or “high fashion” look.
It’s definitely a statement piece so I kept everything else simple and toned down. I find that statement tops are great for throwing an outfit together in a jiffy–all you have to do is pick neutral, complementary shoes/bag/accessories/jeans- and voila!
